DOOL head writer is out

Soap Opera Digest reports that Ron Carlivati, the head writer for Days of Our Lives for the past seven years, is immediately exiting the soap. DOOL confirmed that their writing team, Paula Cwikly, and Jeanne Marie Ford, will take over.

Deadline reports that Ford began her soap career as a writer’s assistant on DOOL in 1992 and has frequently served as a breakdown writer for Peacock soap. She was also part of the writing teams for As The World Turns and One Life To Live.

Cwikly previously served as both the head writer and an associate head writer for Days of Our Lives. She also wrote for As The World Turns, Sunset Beach, Young and Restless. Ron Carlivati's episodes will air through April 2025 because DOOL tapes months in advance.
