Foster Parents are desperately needed in Virginia

According to WFXR, The United Methodist Family Service reports that more than 5,000 Virgini children are in foster care, and homes are desperately needed for them. UMFS has reported a 20% decline in the number of people who desire to be foster parents.

There are 400 children needing assistance in Roanoke alone, and anyone who desires to help should visit UMFS.org/foster. Ralph Branch, III, a community-based supervisor for UMFS, said the following:

“It’s a very smooth process. One, you make the phone call- and you say hey I’m interested in learning more about this, we’ll get somebody in contact with you within 24 hours,” “we do not linger on it because the need is so great, and then from there we’ll start planning those next steps.”
