Jakolbi Taylor's death has unanswered questions

News 7 says there were hundreds in attendance to show their respects last Friday at the funeral of Jakolbi Taylor the 16-year-old shot in the back in Myrtle Beach. A suspect, 18-year-old Gary Abraham, has been arrested, but questions remain. One is regarding a curfew.

The question is being asked why the teenagers were on the beach unsupervised at 1:00 a.m. not to place blame but out of curiosity. No information is available about a curfew imposed by the basketball coaches, but in Myrtle Beach, teens 17 and under can face fines of up to $500 if they are out between midnight and six a.m., but there are exceptions.

Exct eptions to the juvenile curfew include when the minor is accompanied by the parent or guardian, involved in an emergency or on an errand necessitated by an emergency, going directly to or from employment, in a vehicle engaged in interstate travel, on the sidewalk abutting the minor's home, attending an adult-supervised recreational activity sponsored by the city or a similar civic organization, exercising protected First Amendment rights or married or otherwise legally emancipated.
