Bet you can't eat just one Lays Potato Chip

The Lays Potato Chip slogan in television commercials used to be, "Bet you can't eat just one." My brothers and I used to imitate these adds by crunching on Lays and saying to each other that we could not eat just one.

According to Whole Truth Foods, the salt, sugar, and fat combination is what makes the chips taste so good. Across Virginia, you could count on seeing bags of Lays Potato Chips at picnics, birthday parties, and other events.

The salt content has been altered

If you, like my family members and myself, have noticed this popular brand has tasted bland, in recent months there is a reason, but not because they have expired or are stale.

Eating Well reports that in 2023, Pepsico reduced the salt content, altering the flavor of Lays Potato Chips. This is why they no longer taste as they did when you could not eat just one. The decreased salt content is healthier, but my taste buds and probably those of others disagree.
