General Hospital actor Kin Shriner celebrates a milestone and a special distinction

Kin Shriner has been on GH for close to five decades

Some Virginia soap fans recall when Scott Baldwin first appeared on General Hospital and married Laura Webber Cllins (Genie Francis). His portrayer, Kin Shriner, is celebrating a significant milestone this month. August 2 marked 47 years since he first debuted as Scotty on General Hospital.

The character has come and gone many times since 1977 but always returns to the delight of his followers. Shriner also has the distinction of portraying eight characters in seven additional soap operas.

Shriner has appeared on eight soaps

From 1980-1981, he played Jeb Hampton in Texas. He was Mike Gallagher on Rituals from 1984 to 1985. Shriner portrayed Dr. Brian Carey on The Bold & The Beautiful from 1995-1996,

1997-2001, he took Scott Baldwin to the GH spinoff Port Charles. He played Harrison Bartlett on The Young and the Restless in 2004, and he was Keith Morrissey on As the World Turns from 2005-2006.

He returned to Y&R in 2011 as Jeffrey Bardwell. Kin Shriner also appeared on Melrose Place as Walter in 1998. If you count this role, he was on eight soaps,
