Virginia Days of Our Lives fans know that Abigail Devereaux Dimera was diagnosed with DID (Dissasoiative Disorder). AnnaLynn McCord recently took over the role and has dealt with the same issue.

In an interview with Amen Clinic, she says she is making it her mission to change the stigma about the condition. DID used to be known as Multiple Personality Disorder. Still, McCord says individuals diagnosed do not have more than one personality but fragments of themselves locked away in a Pandora's Box.

The actress who has starred on 90210 and Nip Tuck said on Good Morning America she no longer feels shame being diagnosed with the disorder, which is a survival technique. AnnaLynne McCord revealed she was assaulted at 18 and later realized she was she was abused as a child, and the trauma is what led to the disorder.
