Shrimp and Grits is a comfort food

According to Nomads, Unveiled ham biscuits and blue crabs are not the only favorite foods in Virginia. Shrimp and Grits join the list as ideal comfort foods. I love grits and mix them with cheese, eggs, or both, but I do not care for shrimp.

The Local Palate says Shrimp and Grits are a popular Southern dish that used to be called Shrimp and Hominy and was most likely brought to the US by the first enslaved Africans.
