Vintage Motorcar Meet at Haddam Neck Fairgrounds August 4th
(July 14, 2024) — The Belltown Antique Car Club will present its 57th Annual Vintage Motorcar Meet at the Haddam Neck Fairgrounds on Sunday, August 4, 2024. The motorcar meet is a celebration of stock, unmodified antique cars and trucks, forty years old or older (through 1984). This year’s show features pre-war cars from Connecticut and neighboring states.

Poundstone retires from Naugatuck PD
NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck Police Lt. Derek Poundstone has retired from the force after 20 years of distinguished service. Poundstone held various positions in the department including School Resource Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant and Administrative Lieutenant. He ended his career as the midnight shift commander. He also represented police as the coordinator for the borough’s major events and festivals and was honored as the Exchange Club’s Officer of the Year in 2024, in addition to being named the world’s strongest officer.

Bridgeport's Track and Field Squads Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – University of Bridgeport's men's and women's track and field teams, following solid seasons in competition and in the classroom, have earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors for 2023-24. UB's men finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.45 and the Bridgeport women finished with a mark of 3.3 to earn both Purple Knight squads the All-Academic Team honors once again this year.
