Classes start for three local South Carolina school districts Thursday

SOUTH CAROLINA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – The school year is kicking off Thursday for three nearby school districts Thursday in South Carolina.

List of start dates across North and South Carolina

Chester County Schools, York District 1, Chester, and Clover Schools in York County District 2 all head back to the classroom. Those districts end the year on May 29th.

The district that took home the prize for earliest first day back was Chesterfield County , which opened its school doors on Tuesday.

One of the biggest provisions for the upcoming school year in South Carolina and around the country is student cellphone use . South Carolina State Education Superintendent Ellen Weaver previously said the goal is to address cell phones’ impact on students’ mental health.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools opens on August 26th.
