RiverDogs and Cannon Ballers postponed by rain for second straight night
Charleston, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs Friday night contest against the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers was postponed due to rain. Thursday’s scheduled contest was also postponed. The teams will make up the game as part of a series next month in Kannapolis. A doubleheader, featuring a pair of seven-inning contests, remains scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
Novant $320M merger proposal given one more stamp of finality
(The Center Square) – Another stamp of finality, this one from a federal court, has been given to Novant Health’s proposed $320 million merger with Lake Norman regional Medical Center and Davis Regional Psychiatric Hospital. The injunction sought by the Federal Trade Commission had already been granted June 18, and in response Novant said it would discontinue pursuit of the deal. SC opened the day with a dominant pitching performance by Salem’s Cody Beard in a 2-1 win over Punching Tickets. He went 6.1 innings allowing just 2 hits and no earned runs.
