Summit League Hoops Tourney To Have Sunday Finish
(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Summit League basketball tournament is changing its schedule for 2025 and 2026. The conference announced Wednesday the men’s and women’s tournaments will run from Wednesday through Sunday instead of the previous Friday through Tuesday schedule. Next season’s tournament tips off on Wednesday March 5th and will conclude with the men’s and women’s championship games on Sunday March 9th. The nine-team tournament is held in Sioux Falls at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.
Gas Line Accident Shuts Down Roads in Lake Norden for 30 Minutes
{KXLG – Lake Norden, SD} A gas line strike caused a brief evacuation and road closure on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, near Lake Norden. Shortly before noon, a construction crew working near SD Highway 28 and Burlington Street intersection accidentally hit a natural gas line. Responding to the incident, the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office, Hamlin County Emergency Management, and the Lake Norden Fire Department quickly evacuated nearby businesses.

GLACIAL LAKES ENERGY DONATES $50,000 TOWARDS BAIRD SLEDDING HILL PROJECT
This year’s Leadership Aberdeen class has been raising funds for the past several months to purchase a snow maker machine and snow groomer to make Baird Hill a safer, more usable sledding hill for families to use throughout the winter months. City denies nuisance appeal after public hearing
Madison City Commissioners unanimously denied a nuisance appeal from Madison resident Marvin Parkinson at their July 15 meeting. The appeal regarded the determination of existence of a nuisance property at Parkinson's dwelling at 1039 West Center Street.
