MITCHELL — For Jim “Jocko” Johnston and the Mitchell Baseball Association, the goal for Cadwell Park is simple — to create a majesty for both players and fans. “We want them to say, ‘Wow, this is a great place,’ ” said Johnston of a fan or player’s first impressions when walking into the ballpark for the first time. “We always have that in mind when we are making improvements. LEPC pledges funds for law enforcement training tool
The Local Emergency Planning Committee approved a maximum contribution of $4,000 to help law enforcement purchase a breaching door. The committee unanimously approved covering 50%, with a cap of $4,000, to fund the purchase. The Madison Police Department and Lake County Sheriff's Office would fund another quarter of the purchase each, according to Madison Police Department Officer Heath Abraham.
