PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Hundreds gathered at Independence Mall in Old City Philadelphia Wednesday for Salute to Service, showcasing the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus. Two-time Grammy winner LeAnn Rimes performed as well. "I just think it's wonderful," Laura Taylor, of Southwest Philadelphia, said. "It's very patriotic, and I think we need this in this time of division that's going on right now to bring us all together. And I'm proud to be sitting here to support this.""It's important to be part of the American celebration," Michael Biello, of South Philly, said.In the midst of the patriotic, free concert, an important lesson stood out: "This stands for everything, I mean freedom, and I think we take for granted sometimes what we have, and we need to come out and support ... and stand firm and love each other and care for each other," Taylor said.

Philadelphia police seek suspect accused of breaking into cars in Northern Liberties
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect they say was involved in at least seven car break-ins in Northern Liberties. Police say the break-ins happened just after 5 a.m. on June 16, and one was caught on camera. Windows were smashed on at least seven vehicles parked on the 200 block of Brown Street, police said. Items were stolen from some of them.Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Real estate investment group Creating Shared Communities will build a 517,000-square-foot addiction rehabilitation center at 3700 Ludlow St., blocks away from Penn’s campus. When completed, the 40-story building is set to have both inpatient and outpatient services and will be the largest addiction rehabilitation center in the Northeast. General manager of CSC Sal Smeke called the facility the “Mayo Clinic of drug abuse in the Northeast.”
