    Chesterfield County students return to school with new rules in place

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Chesterfield County students returned to the classroom Tuesday with some new rules in place such as:

    • Students who test positive for COVID-19, but do not have a fever for 24 hours, no longer have to isolate for five days
    • Children in sixth to eighth grade must receive a minimum of 30 minutes a day to spend outside doing some type of physical activity

    A major change this school year is that statewide, students will not be allowed to use their phones during the school day.

    PREVIOUS: SC Board of Education threatens to take away funding if “cellphone ban” not met

    A proviso in the state budget bans cellphone use in the classroom and threatens to take away school funding from districts failing to follow this new regulation.
