    Around 20 animals saved from house fire in Chesterfield

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Chesterfield Fire and EMS saved around 20 animals from a house fire that happened on Saturday.

    According to the department , on Saturday, July 27, at around 4:35 p.m. they received a call about a house fire at the 12400 block of Donegal Drive. When firefighters arrived, there was smoke coming out of the front attic area of the two-story home.

    Firefighters were then able to save around 20 animals, as the owner ran an animal rehabilitation center out of the residence. Four people were displaced along with the animals but there were no injuries.

    The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
