Laura Walsh of Church Hill, right, is the happy winner of the Women’s League of Washington College Grand Raffle, a two night stay at Chestertown’s White Swan Tavern and a $200 gift card to Watershed Alley (an $800 dollar value); presented by WLWC Co-President Barbara Brown. Walsh’s name was drawn by Washington College First Lady and WLWC member, Lori Crane during the Scholarship Fundraiser Luncheon “Chilln’ on the Chester” May 28 at Chester River Yacht and Country Club. Proceeds from the Raffle and Fund Raiser go to the WLWC’s Schlorarship, Helen Gibson Endowment and the Miller Library. Walsh bought a raffle ticket to support Washington College, her husband’s alma mater. Women’s League of Washington College was founded 73 years ago by former College First Lady, Helen Gibson with the purpose of fostering a closer relationship between Chestertown and the College and to provide scholarships and support activities that benefit the student body. Membership is open to anyone wishing to support the college.
