Presenter, Del. Maggie McIntosh, will give her talk on Hogan’s Disappointing Record via Zoom, as she is unable to travel to Chestertown due to a medical emergency. Members of the public are encouraged to contact info@dckcmd.com to get the Zoom link.

The public is invited to the July 18 meeting of the Democratic Club of Kent County for a timely and informative presentation by former Maryland Delegate Maggie McIntosh.

McIntosh will offer insights into the “disappointing record of Larry Hogan’s tenure as governor, offering examples of his actions while in office that make him a poor choice for any further office.”

McIntosh represented Baltimore City in the House of Delegates from 1992 until her retirement in 2023. During her time as a delegate, she accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments, honors, and awards.

She was the first woman to serve as majority leader, and the first woman to chair the House Appropriations Committee. She was the first openly gay elected member of the Maryland General Assembly and was a strong leader in winning the fight for same-sex marriage in Maryland.

McIntosh chaired the Environmental Matters Committee for a decade and was successful in passing the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Act, funding critical upgrades at wastewater treatment plants across the state. In 2015, she was named an Admiral of the Chesapeake, the highest honor a governor can give a Maryland resident for their contributions to the health of Maryland’s environment.

She is currently a senior consultant for state government relations at Cornerstone in Annapolis.

If interested in attending this meeting, RSVP to info@dckcmd.com.
