Voinovich School wins funding for electronic aviation upgrade
The runway to electrically powered aviation just got a little shorter in Southeast Ohio. In mid-July, Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service received a $500,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission’s Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE) initiative. This funding will help 36 airports in Appalachian counties in Ohio, Kentucky and North Carolina identify the electrical charging infrastructure needed to support new electric aviation technologies.

New traffic study could lead to yet another Richland County roundabout
Richland County could get a traffic control roundabout at another rural intersection. County commissioners on Tuesday approved a $12,975 contract with EMH&T Inc. of Columbus to study accident patterns over the last five years at the intersection of Middle Bellville and Orchard Park roads and come up with possible solutions to reduce the risk. PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A complex of thunderstorms will be moving across southern Ohio and into West Virginia this morning. Thunderstorms will be more likely around Jackson County and towards the south for the morning commute, but rain chances will still be around towards the north. Our potential for showers and storms today will wane through the morning, but a few showers will still be possible around noon. When we enter the afternoon and evening, we will be looking at drier weather with a decrease in cloud cover. Expect the evening commute to be overall quiet across the Mid-Ohio Valley. However, it is still going to be quite humid.
