Police: 18-year-old shot Thursday night in Columbia
The Howard County police are investigating a shooting that sent an 18-year-old to the hospital Thursday night. According to Howard County police, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night, officers responded to the area of 9600 block of Whiteacre Road for a report of gunshots and found an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and has been released.
Warrant Unit Seeks Whereabouts Of Suspect In First-Degree Assault Case (Stewart)
Warrant Unit seeks whereabouts of suspect in first-degree assault: On July 21 at 12:40 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Alava Court in Waldorf for the report of an assault in progress. When officers arrived, the suspect, Gary Courtney Stewart, age 50, of S.E. Washington, D.C., had already fled the area. A preliminary investigation showed Stewart punched the victim in the face and then attempted to stab her. The victim was able to escape and call 9-1-1. Officers immediately obtained an arrest warrant and have been pursuing leads; however, Stewart has not been located. Stewart is 6’2” and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair, and he may be armed with a weapon. Anyone with information about Stewart’s whereabouts is asked not to approach him but to call Sgt. Coulby at 301-932-3072. Maryland man and his dog escape through roof of trapped elevator
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A man and his dog had to be rescued from a stuck elevator on Monday, July 22, according to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. The Rescue Squad officials say that they were called after the elevator became jammed between two floors, leaving the man and his dog trapped inside the Maryland building.
