My Favorite Restaurant for Mediterranean Food is in Schaumburg

I’ve recently developed a strong craving for Mediterranean food and have been exploring various small chain-style restaurants. Many of them tend to serve the same familiar items, like chicken shawarma or beef kebabs. However, I was in the mood for something different and more like a home-cooked meal. That’s when I discovered my new favorite spot for Mediterranean cuisine in the western suburbs: Pita House in Schaumburg.

The restaurant welcomes you with a clean, inviting patio featuring a small fountain and ample seating. Inside, the space is both roomy and spotless. Ordering is done at the counter, where you're greeted with a friendly hello from the staff. The menu offers a wide selection of Mediterranean dishes, available as wraps, sandwiches, or full entrées.

My personal favorites are the Kefta Kebabs and the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, which is served on a soft, homemade pita. I also highly recommend their Super Combo Plate, which includes all of their meats on a bed of rice, accompanied by tomatoes, lettuce, and pitas on the side.

The sauces here are exceptional, too. I’m particularly fond of the tahini sauce, and their spicier red sauce adds a nice kick to any dish. The garlic sauce is another must-try.

My wife loves their Chicken Shawarma Plate, especially when paired with a side of their homemade hummus.

The prices are very reasonable—a full plate is around $14.99, and sandwiches are under $8.

If you’re craving consistently excellent Mediterranean food, I highly recommend checking them out. They do get busy during dinner hours, but their ordering process is efficient.
