(670 The Score) Former Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy has been hired to the same position with the Raiders, the team announced Tuesday evening.

Getsy was fired by the Bears in January after serving two seasons as the team's offensive coordinator. In Las Vegas, he'll be tasked with leading the Raiders' offense alongside defensive-minded head coach Antonio Pierce.

The Bears finished 18th in scoring and 20th in total offensive yardage in the 2023 season under the watch of Getsy, who was hired by head coach Matt Eberflus in January 2022.

"We felt that when we looked at the growth, development and improvement, it wasn’t where it needed to be," Eberflus said of the decision to dismiss Getsy. "That’s why those changes were made."

The Bears also fired quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko, running backs coach Omar Young, wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert and assistant tight ends coach Tim Zetts.

The Bears hired Shane Waldron, who was previously the Seahawks' offensive coordinator, to replace Getsy. Eberflus and Waldron filled out the offensive coaching staff with passing game coordinator Thomas Brown, quarterbacks coach Kerry Joseph, running backs coach Chad Morton and wide receivers coach Chris Beatty.

The Raiders face pivotal decisions for their offense this offseason, including one for their future at quarterback. In Las Vegas, Getsy could once again be tasked with developing a young quarterback.
