Matt Eberflus: Bears' focus is to 'keep building the foundation'

(670 The Score) While expectations are growing for the Bears and there remains great intrigue about how they’ll move forward with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, head coach Matt Eberflus’ focus remains grounded.

He wants the Bears to continue to build their infrastructure piece-by-piece, as he believes they’ve done the past two offseasons.

“It’s important that you really keep building the foundation,” Eberflus said on the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Tuesday. “We feel really good about the two classes (we’ve had), the two draft classes, the two free agency classes that we’ve signed. That’s the solid foundation that we’re standing on. And really, this is the same process this year. We’ve got to do a great job of evaluating the draft class, a great job of signing these free agents and then onboarding these guys into our team and the way we do our business. To me, that’s the pieces you need to have to have the continuity you’re talking about – not only on offense but also on defense and special teams. We’re making progress there, but we’ve got a lot of work to do.”
