(670 The Score) The Bears have added a veteran to their offense, as they're set to sign tight end Gerald Everett on a two-year deal, a source said Tuesday afternoon. ESPN first reported the news.

Everett's contract is worth $12 million. Of that, $6.1 million is guaranteed, and it can also escalate up to $14 million with incentives.

Everett, 29, overlapped with new Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron during previous stints with the Rams and the Seahawks. Everett had 51 receptions for 411 yards and three scores in 15 games for the Chargers in 2023. He played the past two seasons for the Chargers.

In Everett, the Bears will add a proven complement at tight end alongside Cole Kmet, who played the first season of a four-year, $50-million deal in 2023.

Everett joins Kmet and practice squad player Stephen Carlson as the Bears' lone tight ends on the roster.

Everett's contract can become official Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT, when the NFL's new league year begins.
