(670 The Score) The Bears should be reluctant to trade back from No. 9 overall in the NFL Draft, Sun-Times writer Jason Lieser argued on the Bernstein & Holmes Show on Thursday afternoon.

In his mind, the Bears should add the best talent available at No. 9 who fills one of their primary needs – wide receiver, offensive tackle or edge rusher.

“I don’t want to trade out of nine if I’m the Bears,” Lieser said. “I’ve had enough of this, ‘Let’s turn a second-round pick into a bunch of other picks and let’s just fill up a team with a bunch of B, B+ guys.’ Get some stars, go get some stars.

“When you’re drafting ninth, you’re trying to draft an All-Pro. You’re trying to draft a guy that’s going in the Hall of Fame as a Bear. They need guys like that right now. They need blue-chip, five-star guys. I would like where I sit knowing that I would probably have my choice of the third-best receiver or the second-best left tackle or the best pass rusher in the draft at nine. I would not trade out of that. I would take the best available out of those three and I would hopefully be hanging that guy’s number in the Ring of Honor.”
