(670 The Score) Former White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski is no longer on the organization’s payroll as a team ambassador in large part due to his criticism of the club on his Foul Territory podcast, Pierzynski said on the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Monday afternoon.

Beyond that, Pierzynski acknowledged his busy life also contributed to it making sense to step away from his ambassador role.

“Listen, I don’t have a ton of time doing not only Foul Territory but also doing the Fox (analyst work), plus I also have two teenage kids,” Pierzynski said. “I said some things when they hired Chris Getz (as general manager last August). I gave my thoughts on it, and I thought they should’ve went outside the organization and looked around a little bit. Because listen, you get a chance to interview 29 other teams’ best guys, maybe you can steal some ideas. Then if you want to go back and hire Chris Getz, great. But at the same time, at least go out there and learn it. So they didn’t love that. Listen, I understand, but then we talked and they’re like, ‘You know, you’re on our payroll, so you should probably say good things.’ And then I was like, ‘Well, I also do this podcast where I’m going to say the truth.’

“We just mutually agreed it was kind of time to part ways. Listen, I still love the White Sox organization … I am a fan."

Pierzynski added there were “no hard feelings either way.”

“I get it,” Pierzynski said. “Was I disappointed? Of course.

“At the end of the day, I get it. I get their side of it. I get my side of it. There were no hard feelings. I talked to the people involved and it was just like, ‘OK, it’s cool, we’ll move on.’”

Moving forward, Pierzynski would be happy to attend White Sox functions if he's asked to do so and it works with his schedule, he said.

The White Sox are off to a franchise-worst 3-18 start, which led to a fiery rant from Pierzynski recently about their struggles .
