Bears invite 3 veterans for tryouts at rookie minicamp

(670 The Score) The Bears will give three veteran players an opportunity at rookie minicamp.

The Bears will host cornerback Parry Nickerson, tight end Tommy Sweeney and receiver Freddie Swain for veteran tryouts this weekend at rookie minicamp.

Nickerson, 29, has played parts of five NFL seasons with five different teams. Sweeney, 28, was a seventh-round pick of the Bills in 2019 who has 18 catches and a touchdown in 24 career games. Swain, 25, was a sixth-round pick in 2020 who has 42 receptions and six touchdowns over 37 games with three different teams.

The Bears' roster for rookie minicamp features their five selections in the recently held NFL Draft, led by quarterback Caleb Williams and receiver Rome Odunze. The team also signed nine undrafted free agents and will host 24 undrafted rookies for tryouts.
