Bears sign 2 veterans, 4 rookies from tryouts

(670 The Score) The Bears on Monday signed six players who underwent tryouts over the weekend at rookie minicamp.

The Bears signed a pair of veterans in receiver Freddie Swain and tight end Tommy Sweeney along with undrafted rookies in receiver John Jackson (USC), defensive back Leon Jones (Arkansas State), defensive tackle Dashaun Mallory (Arizona State) and linebacker Paul Moala (Georgia Tech).

Swain, 25, was a sixth-round pick in 2020 who has 42 receptions and six touchdowns over 37 career NFL games with three different teams. Sweeney, 28, was a seventh-round pick of the Bills in 2019 who has 18 catches and a touchdown in 24 career games.

The Bears will begin OTAs next week at Halas Hall.
