After a scorching start to his MLB career, Chicago White Sox infielder Bryan Ramos has found himself sidelined with a left quad strain. He suffered the injury on May 14 against the Washington Nationals , which ultimately led to the Sox placing him on the 10-day IL (retroactive to May 15).

Before Sunday's series finale in the Bronx, White Sox manager Pedro Grifol provided an update on Ramos's status, stating that the young third baseman will head to Triple-A Charlotte for a rehab assignment beginning Tuesday.

Ramos is eligible to return from the IL on May 25. It seems a quick return for next weekend's series against the Baltimore Orioles is a possibility depending on how he feels after a few rehab starts with the Charlotte Knights.

The White Sox initially recalled the young slugger from Double-A Birmingham on May 4. He slashed an impressive .281/.294/.344 in 34 plate appearances and received ample playing time at the hot corner in his first big-league stint.
