(670 The Score) White Sox manager Pedro Grifol’s hot seat is now scorching.

Amid a 13-game losing streak that has dropped the White Sox to an MLB-worst 15-47, Grifol has come under increased scrutiny. On Wednesday morning, it was in the form of Athletic writer and MLB insider Ken Rosenthal reporting that Grifol is “running out of time” on the job.

“All of the pieces are in place for a managerial change,” Rosenthal wrote. “The only question is when it will happen.”

The White Sox’s 13-game losing streak is tied for the longest in franchise history in a single season. The worst skid in team history is a 15-game losing streak that stretched from the end of the 1967 season into the start of the 1968 campaign.

The 1961 Phillies have the longest losing streak in modern MLB history, as they dropped 23 straight games.

Grifol was hired by the White Sox in November 2022 after he had spent the past 10 seasons as a coach for the Royals. Grifol is 76-148 in his two seasons on the job. His .339 winning percentage is the worst in White Sox history among those who have managed at least 40 games.

Grifol recently criticized his players for being "f****** flat" in a 4-1 loss to the Orioles on May 26. He then doubled down on that viewpoint , while his players pushed back at criticism while simply crediting Orioles right-hander Kyle Bradish for pitching a great game.
