(670 The Score) " Big Dog" is back with the Bears.

The Bears have re-signed veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis on a one-year deal, the team announced Monday.

Lewis turned 40 in May and is entering his 19th season in the NFL. He was a first-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, which included the likes of Devin Hester, Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Andrew Whitworth and DeMeco Ryans.

Lewis played the first 12 seasons of his NFL career with the Jaguars, then five years with the Packers before signing with the Bears last August. Though Lewis hasn't been much of a target in the passing game, he has earned the reputation of being an excellent blocker.

Lewis joins a Bears tight end group that's led by Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett, who should each be key targets in the offense.
