Jon Heyman: 'The White Sox will have the best trade deadline of all the sellers'

(670 The Score) Carrying a .258 winning percentage as they sit at 17-49, the White Sox are on pace to have their worst season in franchise history and one of the worst seasons in MLB history. Amid those woes, an important trade deadline awaits on July 30 in a transaction cycle that will give the club a chance to better position itself for the future.

With that in mind, the dynamics of the trade market are set up to benefit the White Sox a great deal, Jon Heyman of the New York Post and MLB Network told the Mully & Haugh Show on Monday morning.

“Of all the teams, I think the White Sox will have the best trade deadline of all the sellers – and there are not many sellers,” Heyman said. “It is a big seller’s market, so they should be able to get overpays on everybody.

“I think they’re going to have a good trade market and a very good deadline.”

Heyman believes the White Sox will trade left-hander Garrett Crochet and veteran right-hander Erick Fedde, among others. Star center fielder Luis Robert Jr. has also been mentioned as a potential trade chip, though the asking price for him is sure to be extremely high.

Of the 30 MLB teams, 25 are either in a playoff spot now or within 4.5 games of the last wild-card spot.

The White Sox open a four-game series against the Mariners on Monday night in Seattle.
