On Thursday afternoon, Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky hosted the Dallas Wings. Both teams are looking to end their current losing streak, which has brought them to the bottom of the WNBA standings in their respective conferences. The Sky have lost four consecutive games, while the Wings have dropped eight straight.

During the game, the former LSU Tigers star achieved an impressive feat despite her team's poor record, securing her seventh consecutive double-double. This performance set a new WNBA record, as no rookie in the history of the league has achieved more consecutive double-doubles.

The WNBA announced Reese's new record on their official social media account.

"Angel Reese is now the ONLY rookie in WNBA History to record 7 consecutive double-doubles"

StatMamba also mentioned that this impressive achievement marked the third-longest single-season streak in the history of the WNBA.

Reese was drafted with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. Prior to the Sky-Wings game, she was also averaging a double-double, scoring 12.1 points and grabbing 10.2 rebounds per game. The Sky could not have asked for a more promising start from their rookie.
