Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese became the first rookie to record a double-double in seven consecutive games during her team's 83-72 win against the Dallas Wings Thursday (June 21) night.

Reese recorded 16 points and a career-high 18 rebounds during the Sky's win, which ended a four-game losing streak. The former LSU national champion passed Cindy Brown and Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Tina Charles ' previously rookie records of six consecutive double-doubles.

"It's super exciting for myself," Reese said after the game via ESPN . "I try to give myself some grace and tell myself I'm doing a good job, but I have so much more to grow, and I'm just excited to be in this league."

Reese is currently five games shy of tying former Sparks forward Candace Parker 's WNBA record of 12 consecutive double-doubles set during the 2009-10 season. Parker, who retired after one season with the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces last year, also spent two seasons with the Sky during her legendary WNBA career.

Reese is currently averaging 12.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists through the first 14 games of her WNBA career, ranking as the league's second-leading rebounder behind two-time MVP A'ja Wilson of the two-time defending WNBA champion Aces.

"I mean, obviously I just want to do whatever it takes to win, and rebounding is what I do to win," Reese said via ESPN .
