(670 The Score) At long last, 15 years after he retired from the sport, Blackhawks and NHL great Jeremy Roenick got the call he’d been waiting for.

He’s heading for the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the 2024 class. That honor for Roenick was revealed Tuesday, for which he was so grateful after wondering if it’d ever come. On Wednesday, Roenick joined the Parkins & Spiegel Show to discuss his Hall of Fame election and to reflect on his personal journey, which included struggles and also him choosing a new path in life lately.

“It means so much to me,” Roenick said of his Hall of Fame selection.

You can listen to Roenick’s insightful interview below.

Roenick, who’s now 54, had been Hall of Fame-eligible every season since 2012 but had been passed over. Roenick had a 20-year NHL career in which he recorded 1,216 points, the fourth-most ever for an American-born player. He played in Chicago from 1988-‘96
