The yoga retreat in the Bahamas where a Chicago woman went missing has reportedly kept her disappearance quiet from other guests.

Taylor Casey, 41, was last seen more than a week ago on June 19 at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat on Paradise Island. Her mom, Colette Seymore, expressed 'deep concern' for her daughter and traveled to the Caribbean location to speak with local authorities, who waited two days before issuing any missing person posters.

However, an investigative report from the island posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday claimed that no such flyers were visible. News Nation's Brian Entin, who described the area where Taylor disappeared as "stunningly beautiful", said he was "surprised" he couldn't see any information about the missing yoga enthusiast.

"I was surprised there were no flyers anywhere, there were no posters. I thought maybe in the [ashram's] lobby that some of the guests would know what was going on," he said. He added that many guests checked in to the retreat this week and weren't aware that a woman went missing last week, noting that he "even saw" a few missing person flyers on the roads for other people but "nothing" for Taylor.

In a follow-up post to X after sharing his video report, Brian claimed that Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat told him that reporters are banned from visiting the retreat in relation to the woman's disappearance. "Ashram emailed me this morning asking me not to come back. 'I should point out that the ashram is a place of meditation and learning, and visits by reporters will be disruptive for our guests and interrupt our teaching. As a result, we are not allowing reporters to visit.'"

The Yoga Retreat Bahamas issued a statement following Taylor's disappearance: "The Yoga Retreat Bahamas confirms the disappearance of a participant at a yoga certification retreat, and that they have asked the police to investigate. The organization has also advised the US Embassy as well as Taylor Casey's family. Ms. Casey's disappearance was discovered on June 20th when she failed to attend morning classes. The last time she was seen at the retreat was late on the evening of June 19th. In the interim it is collaborating with the authorities on their investigation."

While Taylor's family is pleading for anyone with information about her location to step forward, emphasizing that "every lead is crucial in their efforts to locate her." She is described as a light-skinned Black woman, 5'10" tall and weighing around 145 pounds with brown hair and eyes. Anyone with information about Casey's disappearance is encouraged to reach out to the Royal Bahamas Police Force at 502-9991/2 or by contacting Crime Stoppers at 328-8477.
