Blackhawks Select Left Wing John Mustard with the 67th Pick in the 2024 NHL Draft

No, this is not Colonel Mustard in the library with the candlestick. Rather, the Chicago Blackhawks have added left wing John Mustard to their prospect cupboard with the 67th pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Mustard had a strong season with the Waterloo Black Hawks in 2023-24. In 60 games, the left-handed shot tallied 56 points (29 goals, 27 assists) while racking up 71 penalty minutes. Mustard has a scoring touch with some grit and toughness to his game. These are qualities that Luke Richardson and Kyle Davidson are looking for with their draft picks.

Mustard is committed to Providence College in the fall and will go there to continue his development. Ideally, Mustard is player that in two-to-three years can join the Rockford IceHogs (or Chicago Blackhawks if he lights it up in the NCAA) and make an immediate impact as a power forward.
