White Sox rising superstar expected to be traded with Braves making sense

The 2024 Major League Baseball trade deadline is one month away.

It will come and pass on July 30th and the Atlanta Braves are expected to be busy. Atlanta has some holes to fill on the roster due to injuries but still is loaded with talent and should be able to make a deep playoff run. A successful trade deadline only would help with that fact.

There are going to be plenty of players out there who could help the Braves with the starting rotation being a spot that needs a boost. One player the Braves should consider a trade for is Chicago White Sox young star Garrett Crochet.

He has been the talk of trade deadline rumors so far and it seems like a real possibility that he is traded. USA Today Sports' Bob Nightengale even said the White Sox "intend" to trade him .

"The Chicago White Sox quietly engaged in brief contract extension talks with ace Garrett Crochet, but with no optimism towards reaching an agreement, the White Sox intend to trade him by the July 30 trade deadline," Nightengale said. "The White Sox have had 15 teams calling to express interest in Crochet, who is making just $800,000 and is under team control through 2026. The X-factor for suitors will be determining just how much Crochet can help them in the pennant stretch and October."

It sounds like he is available and the Braves should be all over a deal. He is just 25 years old and has a 3.05 ERA and a league-leading 130 strikeouts. There's a chance he may hit an innings limit toward the end of the season but that is a bridge to cross at a different time. Atlanta needs pitching help and Crochet could provide it for years to come.
