The Rolling Stones are collecting country singers one by one on their ongoing Hackney Diamonds stadium tour. Early in June, Tyler Childers joined the band for a performance of “Dead Flowers” in Orlando. And during their recent stop in Chicago, they performed the same country-inspired record with Lainey Wilson. The performances mark the only time the Rolling Stones have featured “Dead Flowers” on the setlist for this current stretch of concerts.

Wilson stood alongside Mick Jagger during the performance. The country singer took the stage in a black cowboy hat and a varsity jacket covered in Rolling Stones patches. Jagger was presented with a cowboy hat of his own to wear during the song as he played guitar and traded off verses and harmonies with Wilson.

Earlier in the night, before joining the Rolling Stones for the second of their two nights at Soldiers Field, Wilson kicked off the show as their opening act. “Another incredible night in Chicago, thank you! And special thanks to @laineywilson for joining on Dead Flowers,” the band wrote on social media.

“Can you believe that? I am getting to play a show with the Rolling Stones. Yep, they are gonna have to roll me up out of there cause that is absolutely insane,” Wilson told Country 102.5 in the weeks leading up to her opening slot. “I might have the chance to meet them and tell them how much the Rolling Stones have meant to country music and music in general. I can’t believe I am getting to share a stage with them. Mick Jagger is going to show me some new moves.”

Wilson’s career milestone appearance with the Rolling Stones arrives just ahead of her fifth studio album, Whirlwind , out Aug. 23. “This album has been a long time coming and I can’t wait for the world to have this body of work in their hands soon,” she shared in a statement earlier this year. “This new chapter of music is the most cathartic and personal piece of art I’ve ever made. I hope this record brings some peace to your whirlwind and wraps its arms around you like it did for me.”
