The Chicago Blackhawks are reuniting with a former face. According to a number of reports, the Blackhawks are signing veteran forward Teuvo Teravainen to a three-year contract worth $5.4 million per season.

Teravainen was the Blackhawks' first-round pick back in the 2012 NHL Draft. The former 18th overall pick spent parts of three seasons with the Hawks before being dealt to the Carolina Hurricanes as a sweetener to move Bryan Bickell's contract. In hindsight, that trade is one of the worst made by Stan Bowman in his tenure as GM.

However, after deciding to part ways, the former Hurricane is back where it all started. Now a veteran, Teravainen will look to bring his skillset to the Hawks' top-six and serve as a valuable asset to Connor Bedard.

Last season, Teravainen tallied 53 points in 76 games with the Hurricanes. "Turbo" set a new career high in goals scored with 25. Coming off a strong season, Teravainen will look to return to his scoring totals from the earlier seasons of his Carolina tenure.

For the Hawks, this move is a no-brainer. As one of the players we suggested they need to sign , Teravainen brings skill, experience, and a familiar face that the fanbase will love. It will be fun seeing No. 86 skating around in Blackhawks colors once again.
