The biggest draw for The Exchange, a restaurant and occasional wedding venue in the Loop, is the long staircase in its echoing atrium dining room—it’s ideal for processionals, even more so for stunt people wanting to practice their barrel rolls. The menu is less exciting, with American standards like a solid orecchiette with sundried tomatoes and a plate of tender jumbo shrimp that’s a little heavy on the lemon and garlic. Come here before attending the Chicago Symphony next door, and make note of the space’s excellent echo—it’s great for eavesdropping on tourists who learned about this place from its appearance on The Bear .
