Police said before they arrived, a tow truck driver stopped to assist and an altercation and shooting ensued. One person was killed and another transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound.

A witness said the drivers were arguing before shots rang out

"The man in the SUV ran into the truck and he was mad and he thought that the tow truck people put the brick there so he got out of his car and started shooting, so they started returning back their fire at him and ended up killing him," the witness said.

Another fatal shooting occurred on the inbound I-55 ramp to southbound I-94 at about 2:28 a.m.
