NASCAR is set to arrive at the Chicago Street Course for the 20th weekend of the 2024 Cup Series season . It represents the only date at the venue, as NASCAR only goes to Chicago, Illinois, once per season. This will be the second time NASCAR brings the Cup Series to Chicago, representing the second weekend for street course racing in the sport’s history.

First, the Cup Series needs to qualify for the event at the Chicago Street Course, and the qualifying format is simple. The session will be split into Groups A and B. Each group will have a certain amount of time to complete a run, and the top 5 fastest drivers from each group will advance to the final round. Then, a round of runs will determine the top 10 starters. The metric system determines the qualifying order and groups.
