With Josh already driving in two runs today, Bo just equaled him with one swing for a two-out, two-run single to center field that gives the Guardians a four-run inning and a 5-1 lead.
With Angel Martinez on third, Josh Naylor grounded a ball to the right side that was fielded by first baseman Gavin Sheets. Even with the infield in, Martinez was able to beat the throw home with a head-first slide to give the Guardians a 3-1 advantage.
As of Thursday, Steven Kwan officially qualifies for the batting title, which means he's instantly leading that race by a wide margin over Aaron Judge. His power surge has continued as well, as Kwan slugged his eighth home run of the season — a solo shot to right field — to give the Guardians a 2-1 lead in the third.
The White Sox answered against Ben Lively in the second inning.
Lenyn Sosa hit a single to score Eloy Jimenez from third, and the Guardians and White Sox are tied 1-1.
The Guardians strung together a trio of singles in the first inning, the last of which went for a Josh Naylor RBI single to right field to score Steven Kwan, who opened the inning with a single of his own.
That brings Naylor's RBI total for the season to 62, which as of this typing puts him into sole possession of sixth place in the majors. He was tied with Juan Soto entering the day.
