Angel Reese's prowess on the boards is reaching new heights for the Sky.

In Chicago's most recent game, she ripped a career-high 19 rebounds in an 85-77 win. She also scored 12 points to notch her 11th consecutive double-double. Both accomplishments came on the same night she earned a spot in the WNBA All-Star Game.

The performance reinforced Reese's place right alongside her rival Caitlin Clark in the 2024 Rookie of the Year race.

Her latest double-double also moved her one step closer to WNBA history. Reese is just one away from Candace Parker's record for the longest double-double streak in WNBA history.

Here's what you need to know about Reese's record chase, which continues at 10 p.m. ET Friday against the Storm in Seattle.

The newly-minted WNBA Rookie of the Month already has established herself as one of the league's best rebounders.

She leads the league with 11.8 rebounds this season, and her 19-rebound performance set a franchise record and set the high-water mark for the league this season.

Parker's name still sits atop the WNBA record book for double-double streaks, though. Reese already surpassed Parker for the most consecutive double-doubles in a single season with her 10th, but the two-time WNBA MVP recorded 12 between the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

A date with the Storm — and leading Defensive Player of the Year candidate Ezi Magbegor — could prove daunting as Reese attempts to chase down Parker. Magbegor ranks eighth in rebounding this season with 8.8 per night.

Then again, the same could be said about other elite rebounders Reese has faced during her streak, from Alyssa Thomas to A'ja Wilson. Each time, Reese has answered the call.

Doing so once more would put her in rarefied air among the sport's rebounders — and make her Rookie of the Year case against Clark ever more interesting, too.

Reese is just one game from double-double immortality. With one more double-double, she would match Parker's record mark of 12. Parker tallied 12 straight two-baggers while a member of the Sparks across the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Each of those years saw Parker's playtime split, as she was sidelined for the first eight games of the year while on maternity leave. Her scoring rates fell from her MVP rookie season standards. However, she became a force on the boards, claiming a rebounding title after averaging 9.8 boards a game.

Parker's penchant for rebounds became more pronounced during 2010, with the Tennessee product pushing her rebounding average into double digits. She started the campaign in fine form, recording six straight double-doubles. During that stretch, Parker averaged 22.5 points 11.2 rebounds on 50.5 percent shooting. She looked destined for another MVP caliber campaign until tragedy struck; Parker was felled by a shoulder injury that kept her out for the remainder of the season.

Standing on level terms with Parker — a future Hall-of-Famer and three-time WNBA champion — is no small feat. However, Reese has a lot of work ahead of her if she wants to match Thomas' record for most double-doubles in a single season. Thomas racked up an eye-watering 28 of them in 40 games last season.

She still has some ways to go to hit Alyssa Thomas' record for double-doubles in a single campaign. Nevertheless, Reese just continues to perform at an elite level. And it looks like her fans, coaches and players alike are starting to take notice.

Here's a look at the five longest double-double streaks in WNBA history.
