Sacramento Kings beat reporter James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reported that the Chicago Bulls and Sacramento Kings are discussing a trade for DeMar DeRozan that includes a third NBA team.

Communications between DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls on a new contract have not occurred . Since the start of the 2024 NBA Free Agency period, the consensus NBA media takes has moved towards this offseason representing the end of DeMar DeRozan's tenure in the Chicago Bulls franchise.

Overall, the tone of the DeMar DeRozan and the Bulls 2024 free agency situation has drastically changed. Dating back to May 2024 DeRozan remained interested in resigning with the Bulls, however, that no longer appears to be the case as the Bulls and Kings are exploring a trade for DeRozan.
