Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese notched her career-high in points against the Seattle Storm on Friday, posting 27 points in the 88-84 victory. She finished the game with a 27-point, 10-rebound double-double, marking her 12th consecutive double-double of the season.

Reese entered the game on Friday averaging 13.2 points and a league-leading 11.8 rebounds. She's been phenomenal on the glass, but her scoring was truly highlighted against the Storm. Reese finished the game shooting 61.5% from the field, including a 2/2 shooting split from three-point range.

The 6-foot-3 rookie has received backlash this season for her season average of 39.7% from the field, but she's clearly getting more comfortable in the WNBA landscape. Her two made shots from the beyond the arc were her first three-pointers in her WNBA career.

Reese is battling for the league's Rookie of the Year award, most notably against Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who's averaging 16 points and 7.1 assists. Clark leads the WNBA in both categories, but Reese's impact on the glass and defensive prowess may end up giving her the edge.

The rookie out of LSU will be heading to her first WNBA All-Star game on July 20, as she and Clark were the first rookies to be selected to the same team since 2014.
