WATCH: Hot dog eating contestant facing cheating allegations

CHICAGO, Illinois (KMID/KPEJ) – A Major League Eating star is now in the middle of a major league cheating scandal.

Nick Wehry, who finished fourth in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, has been making headlines over accusations of stealing his opponent’s plates and inflating his score to get into an elite group of eaters.

The New York Post and sources close to the competition claimed that Nick Wehry allegedly used “hand tricks” to bump up his Fourth of July hot dog eating tally.

Major League Eating has reportedly launched an investigation into the accusations but also said “like many other pro-sports, it is not our policy to overturn the judges’ final decision.” Wehry remains set to compete in a blueberry eating contest on Saturday.
