(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The smell of BBQ and the sounds of country music fill the parking lots outside of the United Center this weekend as the Windy City Smokeout continues.

There are 25 BBQ restaurants from across the country that are smoking everything from beef burnt ends, pork rind nachos, to Impossible burgers.

“It's actually Impossible Beef. So really, it's plant based. We've really been also utilizing it mainly for our vegan guests as well. We've just been preparing it with no cheese and then obviously for just our vegetarians and our non-vegans, we've been tossing some cheese on there for them as well,” said Kyle with Bub City in River North.

“So a lot of cool selections, you know, at a barbecue festival like this, it can kind of get taken away, and we still get a wide variety of people that come here who want different styles of food.”

The four day event features a mix of country music's biggest stars, including Parker McCollum, Billy Currington and Cody Johnson. It ends Sunday night with a performance from Carrie Underwood.
