(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A new age-progression image has been created showing what a girl, who was 18-months-old when she disappeared in Chicago in 1983, would look like today.

The image was created by a forensic artist with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), showing what Vinyette Teague may look like today, at the age of 42.

The center created a poster showing her picture at 18 months next to the age-progression image.

Vinyette disappeared from the Robert Taylor Homes. Her parents were out. The child was with a relative and neighbors when there were some distractions and she disappeared.

    This is Vinyette’s mother.

“I didn’t blame anyone because i didn’t think something like that could happen either,”

Angeline Hartmann, with the NCMEC, said they’ve “had cases where a baby was abducted and years later, they are found safe or they discover their real identity.”
