The Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun agreed to terms on a blockbuster trade on Wednesday.

The deal saw Sky guard Marina Mabrey land in Connecticut in exchange for Sun guards Rachel Banham and Moriah Jefferson — as well as right to swap first-round picks in 2026. The Sun also received Chicago's 2025 second-round pick in the trade.

This trade decision hit Sun star DiJonai Carrington particularly hard. The Connecticut veteran took to social media with a heartbreaking reaction after the news went public.

The post was seemingly in reaction to the departure of her friend/teammate Rachel Banham.

"She's been super helpful to all of us," Carrington said of Banham during a press conference earlier this year. "Every time you see Rachel, you just have to be happy. You can't be mean to Rachel, you can't be mad at Rachel... She's just got it."

Banham, 31, is averaging 4.8 points per game this season. She eclipsed that average by a wide margin in the Sun's win over the Phoenix Mercury this past Sunday — knocking down a WNBA-record eight threes as a reserve player off the bench.

Carrington is in the midst of her best professional season, averaging a career-high 12.9 points per game for the Sun.
